Rebranding

A brand refresh for a business that has moved forward

Evolve how the brand looks and communicates while preserving the recognition, positioning and trust that still serve the business.

What is a brand refresh and when is it the right choice?

A brand refresh updates the visual and verbal expression of an existing brand without replacing its strategic foundation. It can include refinements to the logo system, typography, colour, imagery, messaging and priority applications. A refresh is the right scope when the business is still positioned correctly, but the way it is presented has become inconsistent, dated or too limited for what the company needs now.

The situation we usually walk into

The company has matured, expanded its capabilities or raised the standard of its work. Customers still understand what the business does and the name still carries value, but the identity was built for an earlier stage. Over time, new assets have been added without one system, leaving the brand less coherent than the business behind it.

    What it costs the business

When the expression falls behind the company, people form an outdated impression before they encounter the work. Sales materials, the website and physical touchpoints may communicate different levels of quality, while internal teams spend time recreating basic design and messaging decisions for every new need.

    • The brand looks smaller or less capable than the business has become
    • Website, sales and marketing materials no longer feel connected
    • Teams and partners make their own design decisions because guidance is limited
    • The current identity struggles across the digital and physical applications the business now uses

Signs a brand refresh may be enough

    • Customers still understand the business and why they choose it
    • The name, reputation and core position continue to carry value
    • Most of the friction is visual, verbal or operational rather than strategic
    • The identity has useful elements but no complete system around them
    • The business needs greater consistency without a fundamental reset

How we approach a brand refresh

    1. 01

      Confirm the foundation

We make sure the position, audience and core story still fit the business. If the strategic problem is deeper, we identify it before design work begins.

    2. 02

      Audit the existing equity

We assess which visual and verbal elements are recognized, useful and worth retaining, along with the areas that have drifted or no longer perform.

    3. 03

      Evolve the expression

We refine the identity, messaging and creative direction within clear boundaries so the updated brand feels stronger without becoming disconnected from its history.

    4. 04

      Rebuild the working system

We apply the refreshed direction to priority touchpoints and create the templates, guidance and rules teams need to maintain it.
